Eat Your Carrots

It's not very often that the saying, "eat your carrots," would calm a 18 week old down. But I don't have any regular 18 month old, I have a puppy!

We have just started teething, and let me tell you-- it is a new experience every day!

In the last 2 days I have lost to these teeth my Scentsy (He chewed the plug off the cord), a belt, cute shoes, and my favorite headband, along with other things.

So today I kinda had enough, so I decided to do some research on what to do and found that a frozen carrot adds pressure the dogs gums, it is flavored, and helps him from being bored! So there is it! I now feed my dog frozen carrots!

Not only that but he learned a new command today! He still doesn't have stay- gives high fives when he wants to- and pees inside the house (3 times today so far)... he did learn---

**As I am typing this I look over and realize Bray is in the forbidden room and has found the Harry Potter Wand and realize that he has tearned 2 commands this week! One being "Crate" which is where he is sent every 20 minuets of awake time this week!!!!

And we are back! Bray did learn today "Get your carrot". He gets distracted a lot and leaves his carrot to follow whoever around the house, and when he again begins to act up I have just said "Get your carrot!" and he runs right to it and again begins to chew.
I hate carrots, but he likes them

We love growth spurts because he sleeps!

Update on the "crate command he got not even 2 minuets ago- he is passed out asleep now! YAY for growth spurts!

Who Used All the Black Crayon?

Guys, I am used to about 14 views each post. That's it (which is weird, because I post every blog link to my family's Facebook group and there are 40 of us in there... Thanks guys!). I was not expecting that many hits on one post, but I got it, and it has sparked a lot of conversation that I feel to be very productive. I have been so honored by the respect I have been given from those who’s opinions differ from mine, and the dialogue we have been able to have on the matter of race in today's society. Some of the best conversations have come from the, "But why?" question. But why is that offensive? On Facebook I shared this Vox link , so I won't get into that, but I do want to take some time to talk about taking offense. Life is a collection of experience. After one is written into our book, the next experience will be affected because of it. In kindergarten, I had a true Corrina, Corrina experience in class, when someone asked, "Who used all ...

PSA: You Didn't Win Halloween & Neither Did I

Last night my social media feed was filled with photos of friends attending their weekend parties in their Halloween costumes. There were a couple families and friend groups who were the cast of Napoleon Dynamite, a hilarious couple who went as their dogs, Curious George and the man in the Yellow Suite, and even Tess and Emily Tyler (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen from Billboard Dad). People are so creative when it comes to Halloween costumes! I am so not! But then I saw a couple’s costume I was so unbelievable uncomfortable with. alloween It was on Snapchat. Two people, one had painted himself brown to depict a character, a “hero” from a TV show we all watched in high school. Not just face painted, but arms, neck, chest. Then they added the chains. This, to that couple was a costume, but this also has a name, and that name is “blackface”. Minstrel shows started in the mid to late 19 th century, where white actors would paint their face to depict blacks on stage. The acto...

My Chiari Life: the Journey to a Doughnut

"I think it's time to order an MRI. I've tried everything I can think of and it isn't helping. I'm afraid it might be a tumor."  I've had headaches all my life. I remember when I was 8, I had my first migraine. I was so grouchy and just wanted it dark and quiet, and for my mom to to cook anything because the smells made it worse. They blamed it on allergies and diagnosed me with "chronic sinus infections". Age 8 was when I first became familiar with medication. My anxiety and depression started in 2010, but the anxiety didn't become crippling until the migraines did as well, just a year later- my senior year of college. If I wasn't having panic attacks in my classes of 300 then I was in my bedroom hiding from the sun because I was sure my brain might explode. Let's just say, senior year wasn't my best.  Since 2011, Christian had been begging me to ask for brain scans but I continued to have faith in my doctors. From my pediatri...
